Rail movement resuming across southern B.C.

CN Rail says that train movement has resumed on CN’s rail line on the Kamloops-Vancouver corridor, allowing movement of goods to and from the Vancouver port.

“CN would like to thank first responders and all emergency management officials for their support and dedication throughout this ordeal,” the company says. “CN crews will continue to monitor both the rail infrastructure as well as the terrain over the coming days and weeks to come.”

In an update from November 24th, CP Rail said that operations in British Columbia between Kamloops and Vancouver had resumed, with the first trains going to Vancouver were loaded grain trains and a train carrying fuel. Those trains arrived November 25th.

No further updates have been provided from CP Rail.

Following an “atmospheric river” rain event on November 14th and 15th, over 30 points along CP’s B.C. railway logistics routes required significant repair, 20 of which experienced significant loss of infrastructure.
