New 5M John Deere utility tractor offers more transmission optionsJohn Deere unveiled their 5125M utility tractor at the National Farm Machinery Show at Louisville, Kentucky.
Brian Thorpe, manager of territory business at John Deere, was on hand to showcase the additional 5M series tractor, which brings the lineup range from 75hp to 125 hp.
Equipped with Deere’s PowrQuad transmission, the utility tractor can do 16 mph forward, 16 mph reverse, and as Thorpe explains, if you opt for the Powr8 transmission, you can go 32 mph forward, and 16 mph in reverse.
When it comes to targeted producer, Thorpe says there is a wide range of customers.
“Some of the more popular ones for a tractor like this are for hay, forage, or livestock customers. It’s very versatile, and has the ability to put the loader on it,” Thorpe explains. “We actually have a front hitch option as well. So that’s also going to gear towards some of that commercial and metropolitan type customer that maybe wants to use a front blower or front broom. And you can order it with a loader ready package.”
Available across North America, the manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) is different pending on the options, but as Thorpe explains, the 125 hp with all the options shown in the video below, sits at about US$125,000.
