Andy Pasztor, the man behind the high-profile hashtag #AndyClean

Move over ‘spic and span’ and ‘squeaky clean’, there’s a new measure of clean in town thanks to one southern Ontario man who’s hashtag #AndyClean, has taken over Twitter, gaining him the attention, and backing, of John Deere.

Andy Pasztor is the man behind the brand #AndyClean and interestingly enough, although he was the muse for the hashtag, he wasn’t the one who actually used it for the first time. He says it was actually a farmer out of Michigan who coined the phrase, and started using it on Twitter. It quickly gained momentum, eventually catching the eye of John Deere.

“When John Deere got on board and started making those stickers, and they put it on the X9 the night before they brought it out and they put it on Twitter, that’s when it really took off.”

Fast-forward to today and #AndyClean can be seen across twitter referencing everything from shoes polished just right or of course, showcasing the extra elbow grease that was put into cleaning farm equipment all across the world. Pasztor shares that he’s sent stickers and other merchandise to areas far surpassing North America including Brazil, Argentina, France and New Zealand, to name a few.

Although Pasztor remains largely a one-man-show, he has had some help and support along the way. He gave due credit to his two cousins who manned the business plan side of the equation, along with some logo development out of Nebraska and John Deere, who he says has lent a hand in the new hoodies and who will also be carrying Pasztors new business venture, Andy Clean High Performance Foam Cleaner.

“We teamed up with a soap manufacturer, I really like the product. I wasn’t going to put my name on anything because what we created here is pretty special to me, but it’s a pretty kick-butt product.”

The foam cleaner is hitting the shelves this month although he is looking for other retailers, he is coming out of the retail gates with more support from John Deere, who will be carrying the product at all of their Ontario dealer locations.
