Do More Ag announces new executive director

The Do More Agriculture Foundation is welcoming a new executive director.

Megz Reynolds, former Saskatchewan grain farmer and well-known online agriculture advocate, has been hired to lead the organization that is focused on being a national leader, voice and champion for mental health in Canadian agriculture.

She replaces Adelle Stewart, who led Do More Ag since 2019.

Reynolds has first-hand experience grain farming in Saskatchewan, during which time she was involved in agricultural policy at a provincial and federal level through the Agricultural Producers Association of Saskatchewan (APAS). She has also been a participant in The Global Farmer Network.

“Reynolds comes to the foundation with a wealth of experience, including government relations, advocacy and policy engagement in Canada and globally,” says Do More Agriculture Foundation co-founder, Himanshu Singh. “Reynolds has always been a strong supporter of Do More Ag and played an important role behind the scenes since its inception four years ago. We are excited for her to champion AgTalk and to have her leading the foundation as it continues to grow in its ability to support and create community surrounding mental health in agriculture.”

The organization says Reynolds will lead efforts to “increase mental health awareness, continue to build community around mental health and support/expand upon the agriculture mental health educational programming offered through the foundation.” She will also continue working with provincial and federal governments to develop and implement the AgTalk concept, an anonymous 24/7, agriculture-specific mental health support line for all Canadian producers and their families.

“While the needle has moved, we still have a long way to go in ending the stigma surrounding mental health in agriculture and in creating the required resources and support networks. I look forward to working with you all to share, support, learn, listen, ask and grow,” notes Reynolds.
