Olds College looking for new president, as Stuart Cullum steps down

by

Stuart Cullum has announced he will be leaving his position as president of Olds College at the end of July 2022 to take the role as president of Red Deer Polytechnic.

Cullum has served as president since July of 2017.

During his five years at Olds, Cullum launched the Olds College Strategic Plan: Growing 2025, and led the creation of the Olds College Smart Farm that included doubling the college’s land base to 3,600 acres. Enrollment has increased during his leadership, as has funding and support of the college’s agriculture tech focus, including over $30 million in applied research funding.

“My time with Olds College has been exciting, challenging and rewarding,” says Cullum.  “Together, our College community has grown our programming, enrollment, applied research, land base, partnerships, donations, investments, and without question, our impact. We have set the bar for what it means to be a focused, industry-relevant post-secondary institution and have established an ecosystem for Alberta’s agriculture industry to advance and lead – like no other in Canada in my opinion.”

A search for Cullum’s replacement is underway.
