The board of Farmers Edge has announced its choice for the new chief executive officer for the company.
Vibhore Arora will replace company founder and long-time CEO Wade Barnes, effective June 6, 2022.
Arora comes to the ag tech company from Amazon Canada. Prior to that, he held senior positions in the information technology and hospitality industries, the company says.

His diverse experience, leadership skills, and proven track record for driving transformation make him an ideal candidate to lead Farmers Edge in the next phase of its journey. I also want to thank Wade Barnes, the visionary founder of Farmers Edge, for his dedication and significant contributions as CEO of the organization over many years,” said Bill McFarland, chair of the Board of Directors.
Barnes — who has led Farmers Edge since starting the company in Pilot Mound, Man., in 2005 — will maintain his seat on the board of directors and will continue to work with the company on previously-announced strategic initiatives.
The company has also announced the departure of its longtime chief technology officer. Ron Osborne joined Farmers Edge in 2014, and led the company’s innovation efforts. He is remaining involved with the company as a consultant.
Several other changes to the company’s leadership group were announced in late March, with Rob Meijer, former executive with Cargill Canada, JBS Canada, and Canada Beef Inc., joining Farmers Edge as executive vice president of corporate development. Matt Hesse, who previously worked for Winfield United, AGCO, Trimble, and was most recently CEO of FieldReveal,, was named executive vice president of global operations.
