Latest model of Case IH baler built to tackle wet, heavy silage

by

Whether it’s wet silage, dry hay, or stalks that need baling, Case IH  says its round baler family — which includes Standard, Premium and Pro models — has been improved to give growers the efficiency and reliability they need in one machine.

The latest addition to the Case IH round baler lineup, is the RB6 HD Pro series baler. Brian Spencer, livestock marketing manager with Case IH, says this baler is all about high lifestyle, and a large bale count year over year.

“It’s meant to handle a lot of bales, everything’s just bigger and heavier than our standard machine. So for those guys that are going to do an excessive amount of balers year over year, this is going to be the machine,” he explains.

A rugged main gear box offers efficient transfer of power that drives from both the left and the right. As Spencer explains, the baler is specifically built to tackle wet and heavy silage, with an extra wide 82-inch tine-to-tine, heavy-duty five-bar pickup.

“We don’t use four bars, we’ll give you five,” he says. “With the five bars we’re taking some more — smaller bits, more frequently, rather than four larger bits. So it feeds incredibly well.”
