Poll: Where do you think farmland values are headed?

by

An average increase of 8.1 per cent in the price of farmland in early 2022 in and of itself isn’t necessarily outlandish — but some of the provincial averages leading up to that number are rather mind-blowing.

Year-over-year growth in Ontario topped 27 per cent, Manitoba is averaging 13.6 per cent growth, and Saskatchewan land has appreciated nearly 15 per cent, all in the face of rising interest rates and increasing input costs.

Strong crop prices and short supply are playing a role in buoying prices, so our question is: will farmland growth increase for the last half of 2022, grow but at a slower rate, or actually flatten out?
