Thousands are being honoured with the Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee Medal, in celebration of the late queen’s 70th anniversary of Her Majesty’s accession to the Throne.

This week, ceremonies are being held across Canada to commemorate those deserving across many different industries, agriculture included.

Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Alberta all took part in the Jubilee medal awards, with Alberta and Saskatchewan are awarding 7,000 medals each, while Manitoba is awarded another 1,000.

The final lists are still being released, but we know so far of a few being honoured across the agricultural industry, including:

  • Tara Davidson
  • Leslie Kelly
  • Adrienne Ivey
