The Global Roundtable for Sustainable Beef (GRSB) has announced its 2023 executive committee, with a well-known Canadian name in the vice-president’s chair.
Leading the organization will be Ian McConnel, of Tyson Foods, with Canadian rancher Bob Lowe, of Tri-L Ranch, serving as vice-president.
Established in 2012, GRSB is comprised of over 100 member-organizations working to advance sustainable beef through leadership, science, and multi-stakeholder engagement. The organization has a goal of reducing the global warming impact of beef by 30 percent by 2030.
Rounding out the executive are:
- Justin Sherrard, with Rabobank, as secretary-treasurer;
- Jeannette Ferran Astorga, of Zoetis, Lucas McKelvie, with McDonalds Corporation, and Luiza Bruscato, with the Brazilian Roundtable on Sustainable Livestock, will serve as members at large; and,
- Bob McCan, of McFaddin Enterprises, assumes the immediate past-president role.
