Fendt 200 Vario tractors strive for agile control and dependable power

by

The new Fendt 200 Vario Series are the smallest tractors in the Fendt family as the brand seeks to give farmers lightweight maneuverability and versatility in a machine that still packs powerful performance.

Fendt director of regional sales, Conor Bergin, says the tractors are available in three models ranging from 94 to 114 horsepower and can be configured as a standard tractor or in one of three specialty crop variants that are targeted to vineyards, orchards, and other specialty crops.

In this interview from the National Farm Machinery Show at Louisville, Kentucky, Bergin describes the tractor as an example of when agile control meets dependable power. The Fendt 200 Vario tractors are powered by the AGCO Power 3.3 L engine and feature the Fendt Vario continuously variable transmission, allowing operators to spend more time and effort focusing on the task at hand instead of shifting gears. The contoured frame of the tractors contributes to maneuverability, while low weight-power ratio and extensive tire options help minimize yield-robbing soil compaction during operation.

Bergin notes that the smart three-in-one suspension system combines self-leveling, lockable front axle suspension, mechanical cab suspension, and active shock load stabilizing to enhance the driving experience. The suspension system combines with Fendt Reaction steering for safe straight-ahead work, truck-level driving, and working comfort.

Ride comfort is also on Bergin’s feature checklist. The spacious and adaptable cab includes a refrigerated storage compartment, sophisticated ventilation, and air conditioning to provide excellent airflow via the steering tower and the cab roof.  He adds that the workstation includes a panel with a multifunction joystick, multiple hydraulic controls, and an optional 12-inch terminal to create an intuitive experience that can help operators and farm managers save valuable time.

The 200 Vario Series is available through Fendt dealerships for delivery in 2024.
