Lucent Bio and Co-op team up to distribute Soileos Zinc

by

Lucent Bio and Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL) have teamed up to distribute Soileos Zinc, a new crop nutrition product, to western Canadian producers.

According to the North American Soil Test Summary, zinc is deficient in 30 per cent of soil samples taken in Alberta, 66 per cent of those in Saskatchewan, and 61 per cent in Manitoba.

Soileos is Lucent Bio’s flagship technology and is manufactured at Soileos AGT at Rosetown, Sask.

As part of this new partnership, FCL will showcase the micronutrient fertilizer as its 2023 Innovation Product. Shawn McGuire, senior manager at FCL says, “Through our network of agronomists and agricultural retail professionals, we work to ensure Western Canadian farmers have the best tools available to overcome the challenges they face throughout the growing season. We’re proud to partner with Lucent Bio to bring this made-in-Canada solution to growers across the Prairies.”

Producers can look to field-scale trails designed to further demonstrate  Soileos Zinc’s effectiveness this growing season, FCL says.

Growers that are interested in learning more, including participating in an FCL innovation trial, are encouraged to visit their local Co-op.
