Fendt Momentum expands fertilizer options in latest planter updates

by

There are benefits to both dry and liquid fertilizer, depending on the operation and fertility program.

This is why Fendt decided to create more options for the Momentum planter, making it much more feasible to switch between dry and liquid fertilizers.

It’s not a matter of convincing producers to go one way or the other, says Arthur Santos, of Fendt, it is about creating an option — an alternative to liquid fertilizers, which is currently dominating the market.

“When you talk to farmers about dry fertilizer, they love the easier logistics. They love that from an economic standpoint, it’s the same. They love the ability to blend their own mix. And when you talk about concentration, since the concentration of the products are higher, you can go further. So we’re talking about efficiency here,” he explains in this interview from the Commodity Classic, at Orlando, Florida.

It’s the same Momentum planter originally launched two years ago, with the ability to take the liquid box offer and add a stainless steel dry box.

“The only difference is that it will have a different metering and distribution system that’s going to give you the dry [fertilizer],” he says.
