New Holland had its model year air disc drill for the first time on a trade show floor at Commodity Classic at Orlando, Florida, earlier this month.
The P2185 is a model year ’23, replacing New Holland’s P2085 disc air drill model. It’s a single shoot drill, that comes in 30-foot capacity of 110 bushel, and 40-foot capacity of 140 bushel.
Paul Krahn of New Holland says there has been some significant changes from the previous model, but the highlight really is the capacity.
“We also have an angle changer on our row unit, and what that does is helps farmers in clay and gumbo-type soils, making sure they can close the trench properly,” he explains.
The air disc drill is also offered in 7.5-, 10-, and 15-inch spacing, allowing that flexibility producers are looking for.
The previous parallel link roll unit hasn’t changed, says Krahn, keeping the seed depth accuracy where they’d like it.
“We take a lot of pride in that,” says Krahn.
