A summer forecast moving from the west, to the east, and then south

by

Farmers in parts of Alberta and moving east will likely end up with some welcome moisture as the calendar flips to July; however, the parched southern areas aren’t likely to see much of the rain action. Ontario is in an unsettled weather pattern that’s sure to bring plenty of water followed by heat, and the Midwest is in for a tough go for the short-term.

That’s according to the summer weather outlook by Matt Makens, of Makens Weather.

In this extensive weather analysis and forecast, Makens sets out what the Prairie growing region can expect in the next month or so, and even shares some good news for those looking for a later or open fall. Moving east (at about the 11 minute mark), Makens shares that surplus water events happening now in Ontario are likely going to shift further east and continue.

Those planning August events in the east should think about keeping it cool, as the temps are likely to stay above seasonal averages, too.

For the Midwest (starting around the 14 minute mark), much needed rain is not guaranteed for many areas, though some will benefit from the wet, unsettled pattern hanging around in Canada.
