The Canola Council of Canada has announced Chris Davison will be replacing outgoing president and CEO Jim Everson, as of July 31.
Davison joined the council in 2021 as vice-president of stakeholder and industry relations, and has more than 25 years agriculture sector, working in areas of public and regulatory affairs, and government and industry relations. Prior to joining the CCC he was Syngenta’s head of business sustainability for North America, based at Washington, D.C.
“Chris brings a deep background in the industry, as well as a great passion for and commitment to the future growth of the sector,” says Jennifer Marchand, chair of CCC’s board of directors, in a July 11 news release. “We are delighted to have him lead the CCC and continue to build on the strength of our partnership across the canola value chain.”
Davison says he’s “honoured and thrilled” with the opportunity. “This is a very dynamic and exciting time for the canola industry, and I look forward to working collaboratively with our members and other stakeholders to continue to drive the industry forward,” he says.
“We are very fortunate to have Chris step into this role,” notes Everson. “Chris has demonstrated strong leadership and teamwork which he will put to work to advance the sector as part of its next phase of growth.”
Everson has served as president of the Canola Council since 2017.
