Poll: What farm technology has paid for itself the most?

by

Some technology is adopted because it becomes the only real option — like needing an email address or running tractors instead of horses.

But plenty of technology is a “nice to have” not “need to have” and the defining line between the two usually hinges on the return on investment (ROI). In farming, ROI can take many forms such as labour savings or more directly by adding to the bottom line with more yield or higher quality.

Some tech might make big claims on returns but fail to deliver, leading to slow adoption or abandonment all together.

For this week’s poll question, we’ve cast a wide net on what we call technology — from fungicide, to genomics, to accounting software, to tractor-mounted solutions. We want to know: if you’ve run the numbers, which tech has paid its way the most?
