Weeds continue to develop resistance to herbicides, and Canadian farmers have been asking for new solutions.
With the Enlist™ weed control system from Corteva Agriscience, you finally have more ways to overcome your weed issues. You can use herbicides that feature multiple modes of action to manage hard-to-control and resistant weeds. Enlist E3™ soybeans are tolerant to three post-emergence herbicides that feature different modes of action: 2,4-D choline, glyphosate and glufosinate – the active ingredient in Liberty® 200 SN herbicide.
By adopting a program approach that first recognizes the weed challenges in a given field, you can choose herbicide options that are effective against the weed species in that field.
Try to start clean and stay clean by using a burndown or tillage for early-season weed control. Then apply pre-emergence herbicides, making sure to include a product or products with residual activity to keep weeds at bay as long as possible.
Next, choose an effective post-emergence program.
The Enlist weed control system allows you to employ multiple modes of action post-emergence on Enlist crops. This not only helps control tough and resistant weeds during the growing season but also helps hinder the development of resistant weeds.
When you plant Enlist E3 soybeans from Corteva, you can apply Enlist™ 1 and Enlist Duo™ herbicides post-emergence to manage hard-to-control and resistant weeds. Enlist Duo and Enlist 1 both contain Colex-D technology based on the active ingredient 2,4-D choline. Colex-D technology not only reduces volatility to near-zero levels but also adds drift reduction.
With Enlist herbicide options, you gain convenience and flexibility. Growers who plant Enlist E3 soybeans can apply Enlist Duo, a convenient blend of 2,4-D choline and glyphosate, or they can tank-mix Enlist 1, a stand-alone 2,4-D choline, with glyphosate or Liberty 200 SN. Both options provide multiple levels of protection against tough weeds.
The industry-leading triple herbicide tolerant trait gives you more choices and flexibility. This system provides a vital new option for managing hard-to-control weeds in soybeans while helping address herbicide resistance.
Enlist E3 soybeans are available from Pioneer® brand and Brevant® seeds as well as other seed providers. More than 12 companies in Canada are licensing the Enlist technology and bringing Enlist E3 soybeans to customers. This means, going forward, you will have even more options to get the weed control solutions you need.
