Great Plains tillage tools have been fixtures on Kubota dealer lots since the company purchased Great Plains Manufacturing in 2016.
At Canada’s Outdoor Farm Show at Woodstock, Ont., RealAgriculture’s Bernard Tobin caught up with Kubota product specialist Jeff Fuller for a tour of the Great Plains HT1100 Terra-Max tillage tool.
Fuller says the Terra-Max delivers the versatility growers need to handle a wide range of field conditions while giving them the option to move from vertical to conventional tillage and everything in between for both fall and spring applications. “With the turbo speed blades, and the offset of the gang angles, they can get that residue down to a very small size. And we also have a wide range of attachments that can go on the back that will fit any cropping system,” he adds.
The Terra-Max hybrid tillage tool is now available in 10, 12, and 15-foot models. A 40-foot model is also available for large acreage farmers. “With such a wide range of sizes, we can fit any farm,” says Fuller. “These are great tools for residue management for seedbed preparation, and also for moisture management.”
Fuller notes that the addition of a Turbo-Seeder makes the Terra-Max a strong option for hay, forage, and livestock producers, or row crop operations looking to plant cover crops.
