I’m not a New Year’s resolution person. I’m not even a New Year’s party person, but I am a fresh start, excited-about-a-fresh-notepad kind of person.
With 2024 just around the corner, I’ve been thinking a lot about the production year ahead. For our farm, December is when we put the rams in with ewes for May lambs, so, quite literally this is when our “new year” begins. 2023 was the first year that my partner Chris and I actually sat down and wrote down our goals for the year ahead.
We revisited the list a few weeks ago, and I’d give us a B- on how we did. Now it’s time to set down what we want for the new production year, and that inspired this week’s poll — what’s your farm goal for the year ahead?
