Amazone is touting its new boundary spreading feature as a tool that gives crop growers the confidence to spread full fertilizer rates to the edge of the field.
In this report from Agritechnica, Amazone’s Jeff Schott illustrates how the company has modified its AutoTS spreading system by adding BorderTS — a deflector, operated hydraulically, that allows the spreader to drive directly on the field border or boundary, and spread full-rate fertilizer up to the border but not beyond that line.
“It allows us to be very accurate with our fertilizer placement and get near 100 per cent of our fertilizer rate, right up to that border,” says Schott.
The AutoTS spreading system with BorderTS is a good fit for all crop types, says Schott. He also notes that growers will certainly see benefits when spreading fertilizer near creeks or rivers where they need to respect boundaries and ensure nutrients do not enter water ways.
Schott says BorderTS can be retrofit to existing Amazone ZA-TS mounted spreader models. Check out the full report below.
