Deere C-Series delivers an air cart fit for every operation

Farmers looking for an air cart to help increase seeding-time productivity, quality and accuracy will find a cart that fits their operation with the Deere C-Series, the company says.

At the recent Commodity Classic in Houston, Texas, growers got their first look at Deere’s new C-Series lineup that includes five carts that range from 350 to 650 bushels — all available in leading and trailing models — and a trailing-only 850-bushel cart.

In this interview with RealAgriculture’s Bernard Tobin, Deere global air seeding business manager Jordan Johnson says the C-Series story really starts with new corrosion-resistant AccuRate stainless steel, electronically controlled meters. “What those electric drives give you is curve compensation, more granular prescriptions, and now with SectionCommand Pro, you just shut the drive off to start a section off.”

The new AccuRate meter bank contains up to eight individually controlled meters per tank. With the ability to change the speed and volume of each meter, growers are now able to run higher-resolution prescriptions, Deere says.

The C-Series also delivers faster calibrations with the EZCal calibration system. This push-button calibration system is up to 75 percent faster than the current manual bag calibration system and can save over 100 walking steps and prevent the operator from having to crawl under the cart during calibration.

Johnson also discusses blower automation, another new feature, which allows the operator to set a target blower speed from the cab. Blower speed is maintained and adjusted as the conditions change throughout the day. Watch the video below.
