The Prairie Agricultural Machinery Institute (PAMI) is set to receive $5 million over five years from the Saskatchewan and federal governments through the Sustainable Canadian Agricultural Partnership agreement. The funds will be used on project development and delivery, knowledge transfer and training, and for on-going operations.
PAMI provides engineering solutions for the agricultural sector, working with large manufacturers, producers, and the broader industry. Headquartered in Humboldt, Sask., the institute’s work helps to further innovative research that supports Saskatchewan’s strong agricultural industry and beyond, noted David Marit, Saskatchewan’s minister of agriculture.
Marit and his federal counterpart Lawrence MacAulay announced the funding for PAMI on Tuesday.
“This increased funding will allow PAMI to keep doing what it does best, support the innovation and excellence of agriculture in Saskatchewan and beyond,” PAMI president and CEO Paul Buczkowski added. “We are proud the Governments of Canada and Saskatchewan have recognized the value of the work we do, and are grateful for this increased and extended funding, which helps ensure PAMI’s continued success.”
