CCWG names Moore as new GM, amidst ongoing litigation

by

The Canadian Co-operative Wool Growers has named current acting general manager, Morgan Moore, to the role permanently.

The board of CCWG contracted Salopek & Associates, a human resources company, to conduct a hiring search for suitable candidates and to guide the interview and decision-making process.

Moore is a graduate of the University of Guelph, holding a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture and a Professional Agrologist designation through the Manitoba Institute of Agrologists.  He has served as president of CCWG from 2021.

With this news, Moore will relinquish his position as a director on the CCWG board and his role of president. Allan Ribbink will accept the role of president as per CCWG bylaws, the co-op says in a press release.

Ribbink and Moore are both named in ongoing litigation regarding the removal of long-serving former general manager, Eric Bjergso, in early 2023. CCWG is also named in the suit.

CCWG released its 2023 financial statements electronically in early April, 2024, six months after its annual general meeting despite bylaws requiring that financial statements be presented at the AGM.
