Knowing what is happening both above and below ground in an agricultural field is of utmost importance as farmers look to maximize their yield potential while simultaneously managing the land sustainably. One way to do this is to have soil and plant tissue formally tested in a laboratory.
While Farmers Edge has been primarily using their laboratory for internal testing since 2009, management recently saw greater potential within the lab and have since decided to promote their testing services, making testing available to the general public.
With limited soil labs in some parts of Canada, this Farmers Edge initiative fills a gap in lab services across the country and allows producers, agronomists, and the general public to access a service that offers incredible customer service and a quick turn around time, says Dmitri Ermak of Farmers Edge Laboratories.
Ermak says farmers, agronomists, and retails can now access soil, tissue, and manure sampling through the lab services.
