Kubota’s new M8 Series tractors are the most powerful machines the manufacturer has ever produced, giving farmers the choice of 180 or 200 horsepower.
In this report from Ag In Motion earlier this month in Saskatoon, SK, Kubota agricultural tractors product manager Kyle Dabrowski notes that the new series also gives operators a couple of high performance transmission options. These include a semi-powershift transmission that provides 30 forward and 15 reverse speeds and features electric range shifting, allowing operators to shift on the fly without having to come to a stop when doing a range shift.
Operators can also choose the KVT transmission, Kubota’s continuously variable transmission. It offers an infinite number of forward and reverse speeds and is programmed for seamless speed setting to match the ideal working range for the job.
Dabrowski says farmers will be climbing into the largest cab in the industry for this horsepower segment. The 148 cubic feet of cabin offers great visibility over the cab and when looking down at the drawbar. The space is also loaded with a power-ready USB port, featuring multiple 12V power outlets and plush seating with standard air-suspension for a smooth ride.
In-cab technology includes the 7-inch K-Monitor as standard equipment, with a larger 12-inch K-Monitor Pro available as a factory option. The K-Monitor gives operators complete control of tractor functionality, including ISO-BUS connectivity, Kubota headland management controls, as well as hydraulics, PTO and transmission features.
