U.S. and Canadian combine and 4-wheel-drive sales trends diverge in June

by

The Association of Equipment Manufacturers has just released its June 2024 Ag Tractor/Combine Sales report, showing opposite trends for some classes in the Canadian and U.S. markets.

In Canada, sales of 4-wheel-drive tractors grew 10.6% in June 2024, while U.S. numbers declined slightly. The difference is more marked in combine sales, as U.S. sales of combines declined 31 per cent below June 2023, whereas Canadian sales of combines increased year-to-date, finishing the month up 13.6 per cent.

Sales of 2-wheel drive tractors declined 16.9 per cent in Canada and 11.7 per cent in the U.S., year to date.

AEM says both May and June numbers reflect an overall slowdown after 5 years of robust equipment sales and reflects more uncertainty in the market.
