Genesis Fertilizers moves closer to breaking ground on urea plant

by

When farmers set set their sights at higher target yields, one of the limiting factors is often soil fertility. Securing nitrogen fertilizer is costly and dependent on long supply chains. Genesis Fertilizers is looking to meet the nitrogen fertilizer needs of Canadian crops with a farmer-owned urea fertilizer plant planned for Belle Plaine, Sask.

Currently, the team at Genesis Fertilizers is working on the design phase of producing one of the first carbon-neutral plants in North America, says Barrie Mann of Genesis Fertilizers. A project of this scale requires good communication with investors, which is where the company’s latest partnership comes into play, he says.

Mann announced at Ag in Motion last month that Genesis Fertilizers was joining the AGvisorPRO network to help address the communication need.

This partnership will allow the company to get the message out to farmers about the plant and to facilitate webinars and provide regular updates on the status of the plant, says Mann.
