With a working speed of seven miles per hour, John Deere is touting its new Coulter Chisel (CC) Series tillage implement for its ability to run fast and make farmers more productive.
At the Farm Progress Show in Boone, Iowa, RealAgriculture’s Bernard Tobin took a tour of the CC Series with Michael Porter, Deere’s go-to market manager for tillage equipment. The implement features coulters for residue sizing, chisel points for burial, and finishing baskets for field levelling. Porter says it is designed for high productivity, capable of tilling 50 more acres per day than traditional tools.
Marking Deere’s entry into the coulter chisel market, the tillage tool is available in five models, with 11, 13, 19, 21 or 25 chisel points spread 15 inches across the machine. Porter notes that the CC Series is designed to reduce compaction, size and anchor residue, while offering a broad range of field finish options to suit a variety of crop residue and soil conditions.
Porter notes that the tillage implement utilizes 22” straight coulters on 7.5” spacing. TruSet down pressure ensures consistent depth maintenance, while the CC Series is autonomy-ready from the factory and models are compatible with various tractor horsepower. Demo units will be available in the fall. Check out the video below.
