AGCO is looking to strike a balance between power and versatility as it brings its Fendt 600 Vario tractors to North America.
Farmers on this continent got their first glance at the new tractor last week at the Farm Progress Show in Boone, Iowa. Four models are available — the 614, 616, 618 and 620 — ranging from 149 to 209 rated-engine horsepower. The tractors are powered by a newly-developed 4-cylinder, 5-litre AGCO Power CORE50 engine featuring the Fendt iD low-speed concept for maximum torque at low rpms.
In this video report from Farm Progress, Fendt senior marketing manager David Soliday says a completely new generation of Fendt’s innovative VarioDrive continuously variable transmission helps deliver superior maneuverability and makes the tractor a great fit for the farm.
“With the 600 Vario available in North America, we now have a complete line of machines perfect for any task on farms of any size,” says Soliday. “The 600 Vario offers everything farmers have come to know and love about Fendt tractors, including our efficient CVT transmission, comfortable FendtONE operator station and best-in-class technology suite for those looking for a nimble, multi-use machine.”
The FendtONE operator station enables smart farming features that brings machine and agronomic data together in a customizable, updatable technology suite. The optional VarioGrip automatic tire pressure control system adjusts tire pressure to reduce slippage and maximize ground pressure. Watch the video below.
