Tread and lug technology drive Bridgestone durability

by

Firestone Ag is rolling out three new Bridgestone tractor tires engineered to resist wear, protect against stubble and enhance durability.

The tires feature a patented involute lug design that maximizes traction and minimizes soil disturbance and energy loss caused by tire slip, the company says. In this report from the Farm Progress Show at Boone, Iowa, Firestone Ag product strategy manager Bill Durivage breaks down the tires and technology, including:

  • The VX-Tractor tire for high-horsepower tractors. It boasts 45 per cent more wear life and 20 per cent more lug volume. It’s available in 28 to 34 inch front sizes and 38 to 42 inch rears
  • The VT-Tractor tire is a high-horsepower tire with embedded VF technology which delivers improved traction and on-road wear while reducing fuel costs and soil compaction. It’s available in 30 to 34 inch front sizes and 38 to 42 inch rears
  • The VX-R Tractor offers a wide tread pattern for 135 horsepower tractors or less for expanded tire contact area to enhance wear life, traction and ride comfort. It’s available in 24 inch front and 30 and 34 inch rear sizes.
