Two players in the precision ag space have teamed up to create what the collaborators are billing as a new leader in soil health digitization for advanced crop management and climate sustainability.
EarthOptics and Pattern Ag have joined forced to deliver farmers services that combine data on pest and disease detection, fertilization, and tillage prescriptions by leveraging advanced soil sensing technology and predictive agronomy. The collaboration combines high-resolution soil data from EarthOptics with Pattern Ag’s metagenomic database to drive farm profitability and productivity, says Pattern Ag’s vice president of sales Mike Tweedy.
In the this report from the Farm Progress Show at Boone, Iowa, Tweedy shares how the partnership was forged and discusses two products the partners will offer farms, including 360 PRO and TillMapper.
360 PRO shows farmers below-ground pests and diseases, foliar diseases, and provides key bio fertility measures in their field, along with an optimized crop plan based on opportunities and threats. Analytics give farmers a high-resolution view of key macro and micronutrients, calculated on 10×10 meter grids that are 100 times higher resolution than traditional 2.5 acre grids, along with built-in nutrient prescriptions for their fields.
With TillMapper, farmers receive a high-resolution map of their field based on 10×10 metre grids showing one-inch soil compaction layers to a depth of 18 inches deep, and a built-in-tillage prescription.
