Results Driven Agriculture Research (RDAR) has named Dr. Sheri Strydhorst as the program manager, crops.
Strydhorst is well-known in the cropping industry with over 20 years in research and agriculture. She holds a PhD from the University of Alberta and has previously held positions with Alberta Pulse Growers, Alberta Agriculture, Alberta Wheat and Barley Commissions and most recently, her own consulting firm, Sheri’s Ag Consulting Inc. Strydhorst also farms with her family near Neerlandia, Alta.
Strydhorst’s role will include overseeing a portfolio of crop-focused initiatives that advance innovation on the farm and building strong relationships with RDAR research partners and members, while making recommendations for funding for those research proposals with outcomes that deliver the most impact for Alberta’s producers and agriculture stakeholders, RDAR says.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Dr. Strydhorst to RDAR. Sheri is well known within Alberta agriculture, and her knowledge and experience will play a vital role in advancing RDAR’s position as the industry-recognized and trusted authority for leadership in agronomy, and crop and agronomy research.”, says Clinton Dobson, vice president, research of RDAR
RDAR was created by the Alberta government in March of 2020 to administer $370 million in research funding over 10 years. The organization is governed by a board of directors made up of leaders within the agricultural industry.
