Two Ontario farmers have won the opportunity to support community groups of their choice with up to $5,000.
In Wallaceburg, Ian Grant selected the Three Oaks Respite Cabin at Florence and projects with the Faith Baptist Church at Wallaceburg to receive $2,500 each.
The Three Oaks Respite Cabin offers supports to agricultural and first responder communities by providing accommodation, resources and support for mental fatigue within these communities.
The DeBlieck family from Lyndon chose the Rehoboth Christian School at Copetown, which will be receiving $5,000.
Hosted by Lallemand Plant Care and Maizex Seeds, the Hometown Roots Family Contest in Ontario was open to farmers who planted Maizex soybeans treated with Lalfix Proyield Liquid Soybean inoculant.
“As a family-owned and operated organization with rural roots and rural customers, Lallemand Plant Care is pleased to have had the opportunity to give back to these rural communities through this contest,” says Matt Fletcher of Lallemand Plant Care.
