There is a lot more going on beneath our feet than what meets the eye.
Soil is home to billions upon billions of microbes that benefit plants. Beneficial bacteria and fungi are constantly interacting with plants and helping them to access nutrients, water, and other things that they might need within the growing cycle, explains Neal Wagar of EcoTea at Agri-Trade at Red Deer, Alta.
EcoTea has created products that have a wide array of biology and can be added into a current farming program, introducing more of these beneficials into the soil. These products can work with synthetic fertilizers, says Wagar.
The company says that farmers should have a physical, a chemical and a biological plan, and EcoTea can be part of that biological plan for any farm, Wagar says.
