There will be a new biostimulant in the crop production toolbox for row crops in 2025.
Syngenta Canada has launched YieldON, liquid foliar biostimulant to help improve productivity in corn, wheat, and other row crops. The company says the product is a unique selection of naturally derived ingredients to improve uptake and transportation of sugars throughout the plant.
The biostimulant combines plant and seaweed-derived biomolecules, with trace elements of micronutrients manganese, zinc, and molybdenum. The combination of ingredients improves cell division and expansion, allowing increased uptake and transport of nutrients and sugars throughout the plant, says a company release.
“YieldON amplifies the grain-filling processes that crops naturally do when they transition from the vegetative stage to the reproductive stage of their life cycle,” says Chris Dumigan, biologicals technical lead with Syngenta Canada. “It improves plant cell division and the flow of nutrients from leaf tissue to seeds, which, in turn, can increase crop yields.”
The product can be tank mixed with a wide variety of fertilizer and registered foliar pesticides. For growers looking for a yield boost in their wheat, corn, or other row crops, Syngenta says the biostimulant is best applied with a planned reproductive-timing fungicide.
