Poll: How do you best manage stress?

Even the most proactive person can find themselves overwhelmed, stressed, and struggling. For farmers, the combination of weather risk, tight timelines, high capital costs, and volatile markets can create high stress situations.

Some stress is OK — it can be the motivation we need to stick with a difficult task or push us to see things through when things get difficult. But not addressing stress or trying to function with a chronically-high stress load is bad for our mental and physical well-being.

Busting stress can take many forms, from developing healthier sleep habits, creating boundaries between the farm and home life, and getting the blood pumping with sports and exercise.
