The numbers are in on the final tally of combine and tractor sales in Canada and the U.S. for 2024, and sale volumes in both countries finished the year down double digits. The Association of Equipment Manufacturers has published its year-end data, and the numbers are negative across the board.
There are some differences between the countries, as combine sales as a percentage fell harder in Canada vs. the U.S. in the month of December, however Canada’s year-to-date number isn’t quite as poor as the U.S. at -14.2 per cent for Canada and -24.3 per cent for the U.S.

Overall tractor sales were down as well, year-to-date, though Canadian sales were down only 3.2 per cent December ’24 vs December ’23. In the U.S., total tractor sales slumped 11.3 per cent for the same month-to-month comparison, and ended the year down 13.2 per cent overall. Canadian tractor sales ended the year down 15.8 per cent on volume.
