CLIPS device helps deliver biological products as seeds head for the furrow

The seeding or planting window is already pressed for time. Manually having to add products into the planter or seed box can slow down progress, but pre-mixing some products, as is the case with some biological products, can decrease efficacy.

Indigo Ag has come up with a handy invention that delivers flowable powder biological products directly on the seed in the planter box, says Corey Nikkel.

Called CLIPS, the dry powder application system for bulk seed box containers allows for reliable application of dry powder formulations, such as Indigo’s biological lineup, while sidestepping restrictive on-seed stability and planting window concerns.

The CLIPS device is simple, easy-to-install and a reliable way to introduce biological products just-in-time to the seed as it heads to the furrow, he says. It can be installed in less than a minute and requires no specialized training or handling, is self-contained and needs no additional treating equipment. Because of this, farmers or retailers can switch or remove products up to the last minute before planting if conditions warrant, he says.
