Combine setting struggles minimized with Razors Edge Concaves

by

Farmers know where their combines struggle when it comes time to harvest, and concaves can contribute to these struggles through inefficiencies and grain damage.

When Thunderstruck was designing their new Razors Edge Concave that launched at Agri-Trade in Red Deer, Alta., they wanted to create a concave with a bar spacing that allowed for maximum threshing, as well as control as to where it is unloading into the separating area, without using cover plates to do it.

The idea for these concaves came from helping farmers dial in their combines, says Jeremy Matuszewski, the founder of Thunderstruck. After testing the design in Australia and seeing how well it worked, the team brought the concaves to North America for testing and the results were phenomenal, Matuszewski says, in this interview with RealAgriculture’s Amber Bell.

Because every combine manufacturer is different, the Razors Edge Concaves models come designed specifically for each brand, he says.
