Crop Intelligence helps growers make in-season agronomic decisions

by

A successful, high-yielding crop at harvest relies heavily on the weather, particularly moisture levels. Too much moisture increases the risk of disease, while too little causes the crop to dry out and lose yield potential.

Crop Intelligence aims to help growers make agronomic decisions based on what the environmental conditions are at the crop level, says Kyle Henderson of Crop Intelligence, in this video shot at the Western Canadian Crop Production Show at Saskatoon, Sask.

With applications available for both iOS and for Android, Crop Intelligence aims to measure the moisture that is in the ground through a moisture probe. The data derived from the probe is transmitted to the growers device giving them access to the water driven yield potential, which is the maximum amount that can be grown with the water available, Henderson says.

Through the platform, growers can receive alerts regarding disease insights, heat blast risk and soil moisture levels, all of which can help growers manage their crops in-season and gain insights regarding their soil health year after year.
