Former KAP president Bill Campbell passes

The former president of Manitoba’s general farm organization is being remembered for his leadership and authenticity.

Bill Campbell, 69, passed away at Brandon Regional Health Centre on January 19, 2025.

He served as president of Keystone Agricultural Producers (KAP) from 2018 to 2023, and as vice-president prior to that. He was also the president of the Canadian Limousin Association from 2011 to 2013.

Campbell operated a mixed grain and purebred cattle farm near Minto, Manitoba.

Reflecting on his time as KAP president during an interview at Manitoba Ag Days in January 2023, Campbell said he would still pay attention to farm policy discussions, but was planning to focus on the “four Fs.”

“I got a farm that needs looked after. I’ve got a few projects that haven’t been dealt with and that part of it. And I want to have some fun. I’ve got to explore new frontier, you know, do different things. Maybe travel is one of them. And I have a family that I haven’t spent enough time with,” he said, tearing up. “[Serving as KAP president] is a pretty huge commitment, and my family needs my time…”

A celebration of life service for Campbell is scheduled for 1pm on Friday, January 31 at the Minto United Church.

Donations in Campbell’s memory can be made to the ALS Society of Manitoba.
