There’s a noticeable gap on the Ontario winter farm conference calendar for 2025, as the Innovative Farmers Association of Ontario (IFAO) has now confirmed that it will not be hosting its annual conference in February.
The IFAO has a long history in the province and is synonymous with the adoption of no-till and good soil management. The organization has also played a key role in helping farmers to team up and pull together the resources needed to improve production practices and the sustainability of Ontario agriculture.
In a statement issued January 27, the IFAO team says the organization “is about innovation and collaboration, not just in farming practices, but in the way we engage with and support our community. This year, we’ve been reflecting deeply on how best to serve our members, foster progress, and keep pushing the boundaries of what we can achieve together.
“With that in mind, we’ve decided not to host the IFAO conference this year. This isn’t a step back—it’s a strategic pause that allows us to focus on a new direction that we believe will bring even greater value to our community,” says IFAO.
The organization says the annual conference has been a cornerstone for “connecting, learning, and growing together” and it’s committed to maintaining and enhancing those opportunities moving forward. The IFAO team says it’s “hard at work behind the scenes on some exciting developments” and will be sharing more information about what’s next for the organization in the coming months.
