Case IH rolls out SenseApply with sense-and-act variable rate application technology

by

With a single cab-mounted camera, Case IH SenseApply offers adjust-on-the-fly variable rate application of herbicide, fungicide, and fertilizer.

In this interview from Commodity Classic 2025 with Case IH crop application marketing manager Alex Caldwell, RealAgriculture’s Bern Tobin gets the low-down on how SenseApply handles green-on-brown spot spraying, VR fungicide, VR nitrogen, the burnd0wn pass and more.

The SenseApply camera – which is mounted on top of the cab to maximize field of view – senses plant biomass and responds accordingly, depending on the application type the operator selected.

SenseApply technology includes lifetime live variable rate application (VRA) use and a one-time activation fee for Selective Spray, eliminating both per acre fees and annual fees for the life of the device, Case IH says. The technology is designed to work at speeds of up to 25 mph, with the camera self-calibrating to the crop within the first 150 feet during Live VRA.

SenseApply also integrates with Case IH FieldOps and Raven Slingshot, enabling operators to connect and manage application data through their preferred platform.
