Deere debuts front end combine options for 2026

by

Growers looking to capture more crop at harvest will have two new combine header options from John Deere for the 2026 harvest season.

At the Commodity Classic in Denver, Colorado, the company showcased a three-piece hinge draper reel system and an 18-row corn head. In this report, James Streeton, Deere’s global product marketing manager for front end equipment, looks at the new three-piece cam reel with dense pack fingers. He says the reel is a good fit for challenging crops like pulses and edibles, which have shorter stature and lower podding.

The innovative design helps recover down and lodged crops, minimizing grain loss and increasing productivity. The dense pack fingers have 32 per cent more tines compared with previous flip-over reels, providing an efficient material sweep from the knife to maximize grain capture.

Streeton also discusses Deere’s new CF1830 — an 18-row, 30-inch-spaced folding corn head – that’s the industry’s first folding corn head in this row size and spacing. It can decrease the number of passes by 11 per cent per quarter section, when compared with Deere’s CF1630 model. The CF1830 is compatible with StalkMaster and is engineered for use with the John Deere X9 combine series. Watch the video below.
