Agriculture has been a tough business over the last couple of years in Western Canada, and Leigh Dudley, regional director for Canada west at FBN, doesn’t foresee that changing in 2025.
In this report from the Crop Production Show in Saskatoon, Sask., Dudley and RealAgriculture’s Amber Bell discuss the impact that tariffs, commodity markets and the political landscape has had on growers, and the options that FBN has for farmers to insulate themselves from the tumultuous industry landscape.
Dudley says that while he believes there is still a lot of trepidation in the market and growers are slow to make decisions, there is also a lot of optimism out there and they are looking to find the best value.
Some of the things that FBN offers customers to help weather the storm are 0% financing options, some new co-pack options and pricing visibility that allows growers to make good decisions based on what is on the market, explains Dudley.
“Every grower is going to have a different situation. There isn’t one silver bullet that’s going to work on every farm. And so, you know, your best bet is to come sit down, have a conversation and talk about what’s important to you on your farm, and we’ll build a solution for you.”
