FMC teams up with Novonesis to bring local biological solutions to growers

by

Biological inputs are becoming more mainstream among producers as they work to find solutions to abiotic stresses and to maximize yields.

When talking with growers, Andrew Geerligs, national sales manager, plant health for FMC, says that there is a lot more talk around the solutions that biologicals can provide than what he experienced as a child growing up on the farm. He surmises that where some crop protection products may not be accomplishing as much as farmers would hope, they’re looking to biologicals for solutions.

With that in mind, FMC, an agricultural sciences company that provides crop protection solutions, has teamed up with Novonesis, a global biosolutions company, becoming their exclusive distribution partner.

When asked what changes this pairing will make for the farmers that FMC serves, Geerligs says that the farmers are at the center of it, “we really want to be focused in on making sure we deliver the best experience for farmers… we have 10 sales reps across Canada, nine in Western Canada, and really their job is to make sure they’re delivering the service support and everything needed to make sure that growers have the best inoculant experience.”

As for biologicals, Geerligs says that along with Novonesis products, FMC has a strong pipeline that the company will be launching as well. Local production is key when it comes to handling living organisms and something that he highlights as a feature that FMC offers in this interview from the Crop Production Show in Saskatoon, Sask.
