CNH halts shipments from North America amid tariff chaos

by

CNH Industrial, the parent company of Case IH and New Holland, as well as other brands, has announced it is temporarily halting all shipments from North American plants and European plants as of April 1, 2025.

A statement on the decision to ground shipments was made just ahead of the so-called “Liberation Day” tariff announcement by U.S. President Donald Trump.

A spokesperson for CNH says, “We are stopping shipments from North America plants and European imports effective today. This is a temporary move until we assess the full impact of planned tariffs on pricing. There are no impacts to production and parts shipments continue as planned. We will continue to monitor the situation.”

The April 2nd tariff announcement did largely spare Canada and Mexico, though the initial tariffs announced in March still apply. However, products from the European Union will face 20 per cent tariffs, according to the U.S. administration.
