The calendar has turned to April and, if the weather co-operates, corn planting could be only weeks away.
Growers have spent the winter months calibrating seed meters, fine-tuning downforce systems, checking blades and gauge wheels, and making sure the closing wheels are ready to tuck seed into the perfect growing environment. Despite all these efforts, things will go wrong, even for the most prepared growers and the best prepped planters.
Every spring when planters start to roll, technician Turner Sanford and the team at Huron Tractor are kept busy with field calls from growers looking for answers to problems that crop up unexpectedly. On this episode of the RealAgriculture Corn School, Sanford returns for Part 2 of our planting video series to tackle the Top 5 questions he usually hears from growers looking for a quick fix in the field. Check out the video to get the answers to these questions:
1: Why are my CCS hoses plugging?
2: Why am I getting a speed source error?
3: My row unit isn’t planting. What’s happening?
4: Why is my row unit over/under populating?
5: How do I change from corn to soybeans?
