The marriage of agronomy and data really can deliver better profits for growers wedded to precision planting technology.
That was the message from the A-Team – Pride Seeds agronomist Aaron Stevanus and Veritas agronomist Aaron Breimer – earlier this month when they spoke to growers at the Southwest Agricultural Conference at the University of Guelph’s Ridgetown campus.
Last summer the A-Team combined their agronomic and data talents to evaluate how precision planting variables affected the profitability of Pride hybrids in a field scale trial near Elmira, Ontario. In this episode of Real Agriculture Corn School, the dynamic duo share insights on how adjustable downforce can have a significant impact on profitability, especially across fields with variable soils. They also discuss the impact of even emergence, variable rate planting and the importance of overlap control and automatic row shutoffs.
